WHY WE ARE HERE
Simply put, we are here because of you.  People are very important to God.  We are unique creations of God, created to know him and experience a life that has meaning and purpose.  When evil entered the perfect world God had created, it destroyed our relationship with God and distorted our relationship with everything else.  No matter how hard we try, we cannot connect with God as we would hope or fix the brokenness we find in our everyday lives and in our world.

That’s why Jesus came.  Being fully human, Jesus is able to completely identify with our deepest needs.  Being fully God, he is able to bring all his power to bear in solving the problem of evil in our lives and in our world.  This he did when he died on the cross, suffering the penalty for sin and making a way for us to know God and have his life in us.  In rising from the dead, Jesus proved that his claims about himself and the life he can give are true and available today to all who will acknowledge their sin, believe in him and commit to walk a new life with his help.

When a person does that, they become a child of God and a part of God’s family. The family of God gathers in local churches, like ours, where we are seeking to experience and express together the love and life of Jesus Christ.
